Impeccably clean unit with an electric kettle, a refrigerator and glassware. A bathtub in the bathroom. All in all marvellous and stunning setting near to pool/gym/sauna/movie theatre and the mountain on a glorious day. A really comfortable stay on the last night of a ski trip...

The room is functional and tidy with a view of the mountains which was awesome. The breakfasts are extensive with plenty of options. Outstandingly accommodating personnel is at reception desk.

The hotel is housed in a stunning building 🏰 with an amazing location. Plus, there's a movie theater downstairs, which is pretty cool.

Very professional staff that run an excellent hotel. This has been our most enjoyable hotel stay for several years. The atmosphere, food and location are superb. I could not fault it.

Liked the general atmosphere and iconic feel of the hotel. It was comfortable and civilised. The free transfers to and from the railway station took the stress out of getting there. The requirement for "dress shirts" for dinner in the restaurant was a puzzle - thought it must mean dinner jacket and black tie - but it seemed to just mean any old shirt with a collar on it, tie being optional.

Woulde have liked free internet, for convenience.

The spaciousness of the guest facilities and our room(It was an upgrade in the new wing) and the sense of old world style. Everyone of the staff treated us as welcome guests.

My wife and I have been coming to the Chateau for many years.We enjoy its old world charm and the warmth of its central lounge.We also enjoy going for walks around the chateau it is a beautiful environment. the chateau is one of our favourite homes away from home and we were very well looked after by the staff

The location was magnificent and lovely for traveling around Mount Ruapehu. My double room had a big bathroom with a bath and a great view. - the hotel was adjacent to Schnapps Bar in National Park village.

Rooms were much more presentable than what appears in the photos on the website. The rooms were comfortable, and the common areas were lovely and had great views. The access to coin washers / dryers is also very handy for long-term travellers. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The charge for Internet was very high. I think high-end hotels should consider Internet essential - and, if it's not available for free in the room, should at least provide access to a business centre at no charge.
